Where do you perform?
I primarily do performances in the Southeast Michigan area. If you have any questions about the possibility of performing outside of southeast Michigan, call me at (248) 804 - 4530, or e-mail me at Magic@David-McCall.com
Here are just some of the companies and organizations that I've worked for:
Whole Foods Market
Lowe's Home Improvement
Nestle Tollhouse Cafe
Parents without Partners
Kensington Church Singles
The Rochester Regional Chamber of Commerce
And many more!
As for requirements for the show, my performances tend to thrive in quieter venues. Since what I do requires a lot of audience participation, I've found that the better my audience can focus - the less interruptions and distractions there are, the better the results tend to be, and the more fun the audience seems to have.
I also ask that the performance area that is both safe and well lit.
Please feel free to discuss any additional technical concerns you might have.
What do you do?
I primarily entertain for adults with magic, and while I've done stage work, I tend to thrive with a close up "walk around" show.
Basically, I can reshape your understanding on possibilities, through illusion entertainment.
How is David different from other illusionists that I might consider?
It ultimately comes down to personality, talent, passion, and experience. I'd be the first to tell you that not every entertainer is made for every venue or audience.
So how can you be sure you're getting what you want?
I'd recommend finding an entertainer who will meet/talk with clients beforehand; I prefer to meet one on one beforehand, give a demonstration, show endorsements and talk about your ideas for the show.
Is there any age restriction?
The format depends on the main audience. If I know who the intended audience is, I can give you a better recommendation of shows you may be interested in.

Is there a deposit?
I charge a 50% non refundable retainer.
Please let me know if there will be a cancellation AS SOON as you are aware of the change in plans. Every attempt should be made by both parties to RESCHEDULE the event. If the performer has to cancel, your retainer will be fully refunded, and you will be notified of any emergency as soon as humanly possible. However, I have never canceled on a client in the last 10+ years of performing.
Is there a contract?
A small performance agreement is sent to the client(s) before the event; it must be signed and returned, with the retainer, before David performs.
This is mainly to avoid possible miscommunications about venue, location, the start time, date, etc.
Any Travel fees?
The travel fee, within a 100 mile round trip, is usually waived. However, if you're outside of the 50 miles from my Rochester office, you'll be charged 50 cents for each additional mile.
If you have any other questions about travel, you may reach me at (248) 804-4530.
Are there health concerns?
I generally avoid effects that can create a problem for those with allergies. I don't use animals, and I limit routines that use smoke and fire. Most shows are very safe, and would not cause any harm. Please ask if you have any specific health concerns.
