Where do you perform?
I primarily do performances in the Southeast Michigan area. If you have any questions about the possibility of performing outside of southeast Michigan, call me at (248) 804 - 4530, or e-mail me at Magic@David-McCall.com
Here are just some of the companies and organizations that I've worked for:
Whole Foods Market
Lowe's Home Improvement
Nestle Tollhouse Cafe
Gilda's Club of Metro Detroit
Parents without Partners
Kensington Church Singles
Five Star Connection
Costco
The Rochester Regional Chamber of Commerce
And many more!
As for requirements for the show, my performances tend to thrive in quieter venues. Since what I do requires a lot of audience participation, I've found that the better my audience can focus - the less interruptions and distractions there are, the better the results tend to be.
I also ask that the performance area that is both safe and well lit.
Please feel free to discuss any additional technical concerns you might have.
What do you do?
My current focus is on mind reading for adults. I can pluck a coin from someone's ear. But I can also pluck a thought from someone's mind.
Basically, I can reshape your understanding on what is possible, through the use of entertainment, psychology, and social interaction. If you want a demonstration, please call me to set up a demonstration. If you're far away, we can do "over the phone" tests; There are also videos on my mind reading page.
How is David different from an illusionist or other type of entertainer that I might hire?
It ultimately comes down to personality, talent, passion, and experience. I'd be the first to tell you that not every entertainer is made for every venue or audience.
With all the promises that entertainers give, anything I would write might seem to simply fade into the background. There are hundreds of magicians saying the same things.
So how can you be sure you're getting what you want?
I'd recommend finding an entertainer who will meet/talk with clients beforehand; I prefer to meet one on one beforehand, give a demonstration, show endorsements and talk about your ideas for the show.
Is there any age restriction?
For my Sideshow and Geek shows, I would recommend that the audience is at least 15, and preferably over 18.
I work with adults and teens in my mind reading shows. I would recommend a majority of the audience is at least 16; These shows are geared towards adults, and are not for children.

Is there a deposit?
I charge a 50% non refundable retainer.
Please let me know if there will be a cancellation AS SOON as you are aware of the change in plans. Every attempt should be made by both parties to RESCHEDULE the event. If the performer has to cancel, your retainer will be fully refunded, and you will be notified of any emergency as soon as humanly possible. However, I have never canceled on a client in the last 10+ years of performing.
Is there a contract?
A small performance agreement is sent to the client(s) before the event; it must be signed and returned ::With the retainer:: before I perform.
This is mainly to avoid possible miscommunications about venue, location, the start time, date, etc.
Any Travel fees?
The travel fee, within a 100 mile round trip, 50 miles each direction, is usually waived. However, if you're outside of the 50 miles from my Rochester office, I'll have to charge a small travel fee.
If you have any other questions about travel, you may reach David J. McCall at (248) 804-4530.
Are there health concerns?
I generally avoid effects that can create a problem for those with allergies. I don't use animals, for example, and I limit routines that use smoke and fire.
My mind reading shows are safe.
Please ask if you have any specific health concerns.
